Welcome to Born In The Barn!

15 years ago I unexpectedly left my job at the vet clinic. When I had my first son I was supposed to go back to work and take him along with me. When that time came I was told that agreement wasn't going to work anymore and I'd have to find daycare. That was a hard no for both my husband and I. So we decided I was staying home. We had just bought our farm, a farm that my mom brought us girls to after losing Dad. So the worry about paying bills on 1 income instead of 2 was scary to say the least.
My head-first dive into small business began after we had to tear down our old dairy barn. With a pile of weathered barn boards at hand, I found myself inspired to paint rustic signs. It was a little idea I could work on while the baby slept, little did I know it would lead to something much bigger.
As the supply of barn boards dwindled, I faced a crossroads. That's when the idea struck me – why not try my hand at jewelry making? And just like that, Born In The Barn took on a new form.
Back then, social media was uncharted territory for me. I had just dipped my toes into Facebook a few months prior to launching my page, unsure of where it would lead me.
Fast forward to today, and I am humbled by the success my business, Born In The Barn, has achieved. Through dedication, perseverance, and a little trial and error, I've not only grown my brand but also cultivated a thriving community of customers worldwide.
Now, I'm excited to pay it forward.
